Focused treatment,
careful assessment.

Cryotherapy uses controlled cold to treat selected benign skin lesions. Assessment comes first because not every mark or lesion is appropriate for cosmetic treatment.

About cryotherapy

Controlled cold application

A cryotherapy device delivers a precisely controlled freezing treatment to the selected area. This damages the targeted tissue so it can gradually resolve as the skin heals.

Lesions that may be assessed

  • Skin tags
  • Selected warts and verrucae
  • Cherry angiomas
  • Milia
  • Selected benign pigmentation

Inclusion here does not confirm suitability. Diagnosis and referral may be required.

Healing

What happens afterwards

The treated area may become red, swollen, blistered or crusted before healing. Pigment change or scarring is possible, and some lesions require more than one treatment.

When treatment is not appropriate

Katie will not treat a lesion that appears suspicious, has changed unexpectedly, lacks a clear benign diagnosis or falls outside her scope. You may be advised to contact your GP or a dermatology service.

Questions

Cryotherapy FAQs

Can every skin tag or mark be frozen?

No. Suitability depends on the type, location, history and certainty that the lesion is benign.

Does it hurt?

You may feel a brief cold, stinging or burning sensation. Tenderness can continue while the area settles.

How long does healing take?

Healing varies with the lesion, site, treatment intensity and individual. Katie will provide specific aftercare.

Will one session be enough?

Not always. Some lesions need repeat treatment, while others may not respond as expected.
